Ashley Nichole Roney-Phillip's Journey

Hero’s Journey

In the Cay our hero, Phillip leaves home with his mother because of World War 2. He is then separated from his mommy when the boat started to sink. Timothy brings Phillip aboard a raft. During the next few months many things happen which transformed Phillip into an adult. He creates a better world for himself because he is not prejudice anymore.

Phillips mother and father argue about leaving Willemstad. But Phillips mother was already set on going to Virginia to see Phillips Grandmother. So they got on the S.S Hato. Than next thing Phillip knew he wakes up on a tiny little boat with a big black man. And a fluffy kitty named Stew Cat.

Phillip is a little stressed with floating around in the middle of the Caribbean. Also Phillip is upset about losing his sight. Phillip found out Timothy’s name. Timothy taught Phillip how to fish, and was preparing Phillip incase anything bad should happen.

After Timothy slapped Phillip, he began to change because Phillip realized Timothy was only trying to help. Because of Timothy, Phillip knows how to climb a palm tree to get food for him and Stew Cat.

Phillip’s story demonstrates a true Hero’s story.
During his journey he overcomes being blind with help from Timothy. Phillip proves himself to be an epic hero.
