Drew Bowers Final Exam

In all of the articals, Edgar Allen Poe dies of either alchohol, rabies, or weather. I think that the articals about him dieing of rabies are fake. One suggests that he contracted the virus from his cat. But poor little Caterina was never sick. Poe died in the hospital & they say it was from rabies. But one major symptom of rabies is a rash. The rash can spread from a limb to a whole half of the body. How could the doctors have not noticed?
In the other artical, Poe died of alchohol. I think this could possibly be true. I think the enviroment could have also helped to Poe's downfall. Some parts of their stories could possibly been made up. Since I dont know who to beleive I decided to try to figure out how he died from their information, & some of my own thinking. I think that Edgar Allen Poe was killed by both the alchohol & the weather.
Poe was dressed in a short sleeved shirt & shorts. It had been snowy & cold so he obviously chose the wrong clothes. He then found shelter in a saloon were he proceeded to get drunk. Oblivious to the impact of the alchohol's effect to his body, it lowered his immune system alowing a virus like pneumonia to infect him. He was found at the saloon & taken to the hospital. He then developed shakes & delleria. Four days later he died.
