Holly Ellingson Final Exam

Well honestly I don't know how he died. All four of the articles supported on how he "supposedly" past on. Some say "he wouldn't touch alcohol.", others say "he was found in a ditch drunk."
The rabies article seems to be true but they say that there was no bite mark or scratch to be found, but he had all the syptoms of rabies. It even says doctors were there to watch Poe go through everything. They say he was hallucinating, and shouting at imaginary people. They also say that Poe refused alcohol and only drank water but it was really hard or him to get the water down. (But he was sick, and usually if people are sick they wouldn't want to drink alcohol anyways?) So there is "evidence" to say he died from rabies, but who knows?
Then there is drinking. One of the articles says that Poe already had a drinking problem and was sending letters to his wife and wifes mother that he was going to "reform" (make himself better.) Poe was supposely found outside a Baltimore saloon in an alcholic stupor, and died four days later. There isn't as much "evidence" in this article then in the rabies articles. It's hard for me to say how he died?
Both reasons of his death seem to have "back up". But I think that he died of like a sickness like flu. So I lean more torwards the side that he died from rabies, because he was having a hard time breathing and hallucinating so I think that it is rabies. He could have been drinking and that could of helped been part of his death. But really I don't know.
