Tara Campbell Final Exam

I believe that Edgar Poe did not die of being drunk that he died of rabies like the doctor said. I know that he had died October 7, 1849. Poe also died in a hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Poe was also born and raised there too. I know that Poe did not die drunk. In fact he did not die with a drop of alcohol in his system. They may of found him in a gutter outside of a bar or pub, but they couldn't find any alcohol in his system. He was completely clean.
They did find rabies in his system. It seems like that alcohol did a lot to his system. When he was younger he had glass of wine and was violently ill for 4 days. in his opinion, he thinks that people should not dink any alcohol at all. I believe that too. Because alcohol does nothing but mess up your system and that goes the same with drugs.
It took him 4 days to die because the rabies were slowly eating and destroying his system. they found out that he had rabies because he had all the symptoms that anyone else would have of they had it. he had a hydrophobia or fear of water. He was so bad that he had a hard time drinking water. This is a symptom of rabies because it was painful to swallow.
The doctor said that his cat did not give him his rabies. he thinks that another animal gave it to him. but he thinks that he should of noted is because the cat was infected with rabies. the cat was given to Clemm, a friend, so the so that she may take Caterina, the cat, and give it a home. the cat surprisingly was not affected by his death, had died a week later of starvation when abandoned by Clemm in Bronx, New York.
