The main Idea of the story is about two people who are in loved named Della and Jim. They were both very desperate to get each other something nice for Christmas, rare and sterling to be exact. They had to act fast because it was Christmas eve. Unfortunately, they both didn't have a lot of money. Della only Had one dollar and eight-seven cents. The lovers would obviously do anything for each other. So they do.
The two lovers had very important possessions. for Della, it was her hair "Had the queen of Sheba live flat across the hair shaft". For Jim it was his gold watch that Had been his fathers and his grandfathers.Something very meaningful to both of them and were very notice for. they both took mighty pride into those things.
Christmas eve was a hassle, they both sold their beloved possessions to get ones' gift in exchange. Della got him a twenty-one dollar platinum fob chin, and Jim got expensive decorated combs. They both sold the thing that went along with there gift, but they where still happy and in loved, and together in the end.
