I believe that the main idea is that you don't buy something that someone else doesn't need. That is the main idea to me. When she sold all of her hair, I thought that was a big mistake. She could of bought something else for the money that she already has. Back in the 1800's she could of bought him a new watch for what the money is worth today. For her hair it might grow back but she did not need to buy him something that he did not need to do that.Her hair may grow back but their love will stay forever. She should of known that he would of loved her for what she is on the inside not for what she looks like on the outside. He let her know that he thought that her without hair doesn't make any less of a girl. I think that she thought that he would of thought that he wouldn't appreciate her any more. That is what i think of the main idea
